The Open Space Institute (OSI) is proud to announce the recipients of its 2023 Malcolm Gordon Charitable Fund grants, which aim to support environmental education and equity-focused programs in the Hudson River Valley region. This year, OSI has awarded a total of $68,000 to 10 organizations, each of which will use the funds to engage local communities and inspire the next generation of environmental stewards.
The Malcolm Gordon Charitable Fund was established in 1994 to support equity-focused projects and programs in Newburgh, Beacon, and Peekskill communities. Each year, OSI identifies organizations hosting inspiring environmental programs and invites them to apply for grants ranging from $5,000 to $15,000.
Kim Elliman, the president and CEO of the Open Space Institute says that the Malcolm Gordon Charitable Fund is dedicated to supporting small organizations that are finding creative ways to promote environmental stewardship and education in the Hudson Valley region. “We wanted to support organizations that are adding to the region’s amazing conservation legacy and are running the most promising and innovative educational, conservation, and cultural programs,” Elliman said.
In conclusion, the Open Space Institute is proud to support organizations that are making a positive impact in the Hudson River Valley region through environmental education and equity-focused programs. The Malcolm Gordon Charitable Fund has committed more than $1 million to 54 grantees since its creation and continues to be a driving force in promoting environmental conservation and education in the region.
