Our Theory of Change

“Who we are, what we believe and what we do to achieve what we want”

The Problem: Many students are falling behind nationwide in the critical subjects of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (S.T.E.M.). Women and minorities are clearly underrepresented in S.T.E.M. related fields which account for a growing portion of the job market today and is expected to grow in the future.

Our Mission: Increase exposure and interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (S.T.E.M.) for urban disadvantaged youth by integrating the study of S.T.E.M. concepts with the exploration of the natural world.

Our Vision: Create a scalable youth outdoor education program that targets disadvantaged youth, incorporating S.T.E.M. concepts while also improving physical fitness, academic achievement, and environmental consciousness

The Opportunity: Taking advantage of the inherent benefits of time spent outdoors and using the natural world as a classroom to explore S.T.E.M. concepts. Engaging urban youth in learning via exploration of the world around them.

Our Input: Replicable STEM Curriculum, Educators with outdoor experience (Wilderness First Aid Certified), STEM Support (increase awareness of opportunities in the STEM field ie. Corporate and Museum Field trips), Donors & Contracts

Our Activities: Custom STEM Programs, Day Hikes, and Overnight Camping/Lodge.
