As a teen the NY Hall of Science granted him a scholarship for a weeklong stay at a DEP environmental conservation camp in the Catskills. This experience influenced his decision to become more involved in the community. Having learned that everyone can make a difference, he began to volunteer for several organizations from a young age.
Ronald placed fifth in the IBM sponsored 11th Annual Smart Pitch competition out of over a hundred contestants in the NYC area and received two awards at the recent Babson sponsored New York Rocket Pitch competition. The
proposed business plan was for the creation of the Outdoor Promise.
Ronald’s free time is spent hiking, camping, and kayaking throughout the Northeast. Spending time outdoors has had a positive impact on his life and he is passionate about sharing outdoor experiences with others. Ronald believes reconnecting NYC youth to the outdoors and preparing them for the future will make a difference not just in their lives, but in our security as a nation, and sustainability of our planet.
